Things to think about before you transfer

•  Check whether your current provider will charge a fee, or any penalties for transferring your ISA. 
• Compare fees with your current provider and the Aegon Stocks and Shares ISA.
• Any ISA transfer will be made in cash. During a transfer your ISA is not invested, so you won't make any investment losses or gains. This may not work in your favour.
• Using the transfer process instead of withdrawing your money from your existing ISA to open a new ISA means that you'll not use your remaining ISA allowance, and you'll also maintain the ISA tax benefits on your ISA savings. The value of any tax benefits will depend on individual circumstances. The favourable tax treatment of ISAs may not be maintained in the future and is subject to changes in legislation.
• You can choose to transfer some or all of your savings from previous years but if you want to transfer any current year savings, you'll have to transfer the full current year amount as we don't support the partial transfer of current year subscriptions. Transferring doesn't affect your annual ISA allowance.
• The annual ISA allowance for the current tax year is £20,000. You can use your whole ISA allowance for your Aegon Stocks and Shares ISA with us, or you can split it across different types of ISA and ISA providers, ensuring you don't exceed the total annual allowance. We don't currently offer lifetime, cash, or innovative finance ISAs.
• If you're transferring from a flexible ISA, you'll lose the ability to replace any withdrawals made before the transfer. To avoid losing this ability, you'll need to repay the amount withdrawn before transferring to your Aegon Stocks and Shares ISA. To find out more, visit our FAQs.
• If you're transferring from a cash ISA to our Aegon Stocks and Shares ISA, you're actually transferring between two very different products. In a cash ISA your money is held on deposit, but in a stocks and shares ISA the value can fall as well as rise.
• Although the investment has no fixed term, you should be prepared to hold the investment for at least five years, ideally longer.
• Any new funds you move your money into will have their own set of risks that will be detailed in the fund information available to you. As with any investment, there's no certainty your Aegon Stocks and Shares ISA will perform better than your existing one.

How to transfer into an Aegon Stocks and Shares ISA

1. Complete the online application.
2. Complete and return your Transfer Authority form to us.
3. To make it easy for you, we'll contact your existing provider for you and only get in touch with you if we need any other information
4. We'll send you confirmation when your existing provider makes the transfer and we've invested it.
   The transfer process normally takes up to four weeks. It can be a bit longer dependent upon the type of funds you're invested in, the timescales of your current provider and if you're required to complete paperwork

During the application you'll need:

• National Insurance number
• Bank account details
• Name of current provider and the account number of the ISA you want to transfer in
• The amount you want to transfer
• The type of ISA that you want to transfer
