Make it happen

Accessing your pension savings is one of the most important financial decisions you'll ever make. That's why we recommend you get financial advice or guidance before making any decisions about taking your pension benefits, so you fully understand your options.
You'll have no cancellation rights in relation to this option. Once we pay you, the transaction can't be reversed and you can't pay the money back to us. As a result, it's really important to fully understand the potential risks associated with this option.
Pension Wise guidance
Pensions Wise is a government service from MoneyHelper that offers free, impartial guidance about your pension options. If you're aged 50 or over, you can book an appointment to speak with someone at Pension Wise. They'll talk you through your options to help you make an informed choice when you access your pension benefits.
You can book your free appointment:
- online at Pension Wise
- or, by calling 0800 138 3944
Alternatively, please contact us and we'll book an appointment for you. Please have your plan number to hand as we'll ask you for this.
The government want to encourage customers to make use of this service and therefore when applying to take your benefits, you'll be asked if you've either had guidance from Pension Wise or you're willing to opt out of having guidance.
Advice
Before making any decisions about taking your benefits, you may also want to consider getting advice from a financial adviser - there may be a charge for this. If you don't have a financial adviser, you can visit MoneyHelper to find one.
