What are Investment Pathways?
Investment Pathways are tailor made investment options that help you align your investment approach with your retirement needs should you choose to select a drawdown pension without seeking financial advice.
The four Investment Pathways we offer are:
- Option 1 : Aegon Growth Pathway - You have no plans to touch your money in the next five years.
- Option 2 : Aegon Annuity Pathway - You plan to use your money to set up a guaranteed income (annuity) within the next five years.
- Option 3 : Aegon Flexible Income Pathway - You plan to start taking your money as a long-term income within the next five years.
- Option 4 : Aegon Cash Pathway - You plan to take out all your money within the next five years.
Before choosing a fund, we recommend you read the fund factsheet that contains more details about the fund, its objectives and risks involved, to ensure it meets your retirement needs. There's no guarantee the fund objectives will be met.
The value of an investment, and any income you take from it, can fall as well as rise and isn't guaranteed. You may get back less than has been paid in.
The minimum age that you can take your pension benefits is currently 55 (increasing to age 57 from 6 April 2028). However, you may be able to take them earlier if you're suffering from ill health or have a protected pension age.
Pension Wise, a service from MoneyHelper, is a free and impartial government service offering guidance about your pension options at retirement. If you're aged 50 or over you can book a free appointment to speak with someone at Pension Wise over the phone or face to face. They'll talk you through your options to help you make an informed choice when you access your pension savings.
If you’re unsure of your options, you should speak to a financial adviser. If you don't have a financial adviser, you can visit MoneyHelper to find the right one for you - there may be a charge for this.
